I ran into the tail end of one of Fred's boat projects to refurbish one of Jacomo Sailing club's Sweet 16 club boats. Tonight, the task being done was to paint the bottom floor with new paint.
Fred found some good topside paint at Home Depot. They don't stock it here in local stores, but it can be found online. It's about the quarter of the price that west marine sells it for.
Next photo is before painting. Wes and Joe hit the bottom lightly with 300 grit sandpaper, vacuumed, and wiped it down with some paint thinner to prep for painting:

The next step in the project will be to complete the rest of the top side paint. I'll try to track down some photos of the centerboard trunk rebuild that was done previously on this boat and post that separately.
