Season Finale- Two Great Events, One Great Venue
Submitted by steve.greene on August 8, 2011 - 4:06pm
SAVE THE DATES!
Sept 2-4 and Sept 10-11, 2011
The final two sanctioned events of our season are just around the corner: the PYC Commodore’s Cup and our S16 Nationals- both at Perry Lake, KS!
First, Perry Yacht Club’s Commodore’s Regatta is Sept 2-4 (Labor Day weekend). After PYC’s fire a couple years ago, and subsequent rebuild, the venue is better than ever. We’re expecting at least four S16s, and PYC will have separate class trophies for our participation.

Dear S16 sailors, crew and community...
A very happy new year to all, and a big welcome back to everyone for another fantastic season of sailing, racing and general antics afloat!
In typical fashion, I will take this opportunity to thank everyone in advance for helping keep the S16 class alive and well. Our “classic plastic” has stood the test of time, and continues to draw old and new sailors alike. It is great to see so many of these little craft kept in good condition, and well loved throughout the years.
2010 Nationals- Great event, great people and great venue
Submitted by steve.greene on September 23, 2010 - 12:30am
Iowa impressed... that's about all I can say to sum up the 2010 National Regatta hosted by Twin Lakes, IA. This lake community is a gem, and now I know why it is such a closely held secret; low tree lines/wind obstructions, shallow depth, and NE to SW orientation makes any W/NW breeze very appealing (if not slightly overbearing!)

Notice of Race- 2010 Nationals
1. EVENT
2011 Schedule
Once again, we're shaking up the venue mix this year, and trying to spread it around.
First, we're heading to Oklahoma City agian for one of the region's largest events and fundraisers. Next, we welcome back the annual Pete's Pier event being held in conjunction with the Sunflower Games at Topeka's Lake Shawnee. Then back to Twin Lakes, IA for another wild weekend of wicked winds, followed by the 30th Commodore's Cup event at PYC. And finally, our own Nationals back at the ever popular PYC. Cheers!
S16 on Facebook- Classic Plastic Goes Web 2.0
Submitted by steve.greene on May 5, 2010 - 4:55pm
OK everyone... we're on a roll now. The website revamp is well under way, as you can see, and we're moving fast to unite the community as we head into the season of sail.
And as social media networking sites have become more and more a part of everyone's lives, it seems natural for us to take advantage of the opportunities.
So now, the S16 Association has a Facebook Group you can join!
